FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State tennis team edged Houghton, 4-3, on Thursday. The Devils earned all four of their points in singles.
The matched opened with the doubles competition. Fredonia State's No. 1 combo of Bernie Gens and
Lucy Prevet won 6-3. However, Houghton won the No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, earning the team point, winning two out of three sets.
Lucy Prevet moved up to No. 1 singles, and won 6-1 and 6-1.
Claire LeFevre won No. 3 by scores of 6-3 and 6-2. Sophie Olson won 6-4 and 6-1 at No. 4, and
Sierra Allen won No. 5 singles, 6-3 and 6-0.
Gabby Farr dropped her No. 2 match in a tiebreaker, losing 7-6 both sets.
T'Kaia Parker dropped No. 6 singles 6-2 and 6-2.
The Devils travel to Cortland on Saturday.
