MEADVILLE, Pa. -- Fredonia State lost a pair of matches Friday, 3-0 to Washington & Jefferson, and 3-1 to Westminster (Pa.), at the Allegheny College Invitational. 

The Blue Devils (3-6) meet the host Gators at 11 a.m. Saturday before closing the weekend against Rochester Institute of Technology at 1 p.m. 

Here's a look at each of Friday's matches: 

W&J 25-25-25, Fredonia State 16-13-18 

W&J jumped out to a 5-0 lead in the first set before the Blue Devils clawed back to cut the margin to 11-10 with four straight points: a kill by Logann Lexner, back-to-back service aces by Kailea Sullivan, and a bad set by W&J. The Blue Devil rally ended there.  

The Blue Devils took a 3-0 lead in the second set with Molly Cassidy picking up a pair of service aces. Later in the set, a W&J attack error and an ace by Erin Callahan forged an 8-8 tie before W&J took command with a 9-1 run. 

The third set saw three lead changes and three ties, the last tie, at 8-8, coming on a kill by Erin Callahan, assisted by Olivia Boswell, before W&J reclaimed the momentum and rolled to the sweep. 

Westminster 21-25-25-25, Fredonia State 25-16-14-15 

The Blue Devils led from start to finish while winning the first set, 25-21, as six players recorded kills, including two each by Lexner, Emma Foley, Kylie O'Brien, and Payton Gilbert.  

Westminster led 12-2 in set two before the Blue Devils regrouped with O'Brien picking up four more kills over the final 14 Blue Devil points. Westminster then carried that momentum into the next two sets. 

O'Brien led Blue Devil hitters with nine kills while Cassidy collected 15 assists and had 15 digs.
