FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's volleyball is looking for a bounce-back season in 2024. After missing out on the SUNYAC Tournament, head coach
Geoff Braun -- who has been at the helm since 1999 -- will be counting on the development of seven sophomores as well as the steady play of four upperclassmen.
The team will be captained by senior
Erin Callahan and sophomore setter
Molly Cassidy. Callahan collected 108 kills, and Cassidy will see an expanded roll this year as the team's setter.
Another top returnee will be
Kylie O'Brien, who led the team in kills last season as a freshman.
The incoming class includes four freshmen and a sophomore transfer.
Logann Lexner,
Megan Nottis,
Maeve Musielak, and
Keara Kincaid will compete in their first collegiate seasons.
Hannah Lombardi transfers in from Canton, and
Payton Gilbert will join the team after competing for the Blue Devil basketball team last year.
The Devils open up at Keuka Colege for a two-day trip this weekend. Friday they take on the Wolves at 4 p.m. Saturday they take on Pitt-Bradford and Hilbert, at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. respectively, at Keuka.
