ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State softball team dropped a pair of games at the University of Rochester on Tuesday, 10-2 and 8-0.
Game 1
The Devils were held to four hits, three of them coming in the first inning. Maddy Devore walked. With one out,
Alyssa Santiago,
Jordan Kanick, and
Megan Guidry hit three straight doubles to stake Fredonia State to a 2-0 lead.
That lead would stand until the bottom of the second when Rochester plated three runs. They would add seven runs over the next three to end the contest.
Vanessa Galbraith was the pitcher of record, going three innings, giving up five runs in taking the loss.
Mack Celauro tossed the fourth, and
Jordan Kanick entered in the fifth.
Game 2
The Devils were held to one hit.
Courtney Peregosky broke up the no-hit bid with one out in the fifth inning.
Madison Lowe took the loss. She went 3 1/3 innings giving up four runs.
Emily Chelius finished the game going 1 2/3 innings giving up four runs.
Rochester improved to 14-6.
The Devils (5-11) are scheduled for their home opener on Friday against SUNYAC foe Potsdam.
