NEW PALTZ, N.Y. -- Back-to-back doubles from
Christian Pagano and
Max Koller put the Devils up 1-0 in the first inning, but things did not go well from there as the Fredonia State baseball team fell 30-2 at New Paltz on Friday.
Pagano would later add another safety as the Devils were held to just four hits
New Paltz would hammer five homeruns and use a 17-run fourth inning to do the damage. Starting pitcher Xavier Zykoff struck out eight over five innings of work for the win.
New Paltz improves to 9-7 and 2-2 in the SUNYAC.
The Devils (4-7 / 0-1 SUNYAC) will take on the same New Paltz Hawks in a doubleheader on Saturday beginning at Noon.
