FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's lacrosse team fell 16-9 to Grove City on Tuesday. The Devils made a surge late in the second quarter, but could not keep the momentum in the second half.
Megan Karalus had four goals and an assist for the Blue Devils and
Audrey Brown had two goals.
Cailin Karalus had a goal and two assists.
Things did not look great for the Devils early as they found themselves down 10-3. The Devils then scored the next three goals in the final 2:35 of the first half to make it 10-6 at the break. The Karalus sisters and
Emma Cockerel accounted for the trio of scores.
Grove City responded by scoring the only three goals of the third quarter, and was back up, 13-6. Both teams would have three fourth-quarters scores.
Ashleigh Manns made 10 saves for the Devils, giving up 16 scores. Elyse Kiggins and Mia Gallagher combined for 13 saves for the Wolverines, who improved to 4-2 on the season.
Next up for the Devils (3-2) is a game on Saturday, March 16 at Keuka.
