Antoine St. Onge scored his team-leading fourth goal, but it was the only offense the Devils could muster, falling to Cortland, 5-1, on Friday evening.
Ryan Bailey picked up the assist, his second of the season.
The Red Dragons out shot the Devils 40-18 in shots on goal.
Charles-Anthony Barbeau made 35 saves in net for Fredonia State. Ronan Mobley stopped 17 of 18 shots for Cortland.
Cortland (3-1 overall / 1-0 SUNYAC) scored once in the first period, once in the second, then three in the third period. The Dragons would have five different goal scorers, and Sam Christiano had three assists.
The Devils fall to 1-4 and 0-1 in the SUNYAC. They head to Morrisville on Saturday for a 7 p.m. puck drop.
