RESULTS
FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's swim team had it first meet of the semester on Saturday. The team spent the winter break training in Florida, and got back into competition for the first time returning.
Cleo McDermott had some great swims, including a second-place finish in the 1,000-yard free (12:32.16). She also finished third in the 100 free (1:03.87).
Freshman
Hailey Thomson was also impressive in her backstroke, setting a PR in the 200-yard backstroke in 2:37.60. She finished second in the 100 back in 1:12.34.
Kaylee Constantino finished second in the 100 breast stroke in 1:14.73 -- just .31 seconds out of the top spot, and second in the 200 breast (2:44.45). She was also .20 seconds off the pace in the 50 free, finishing second in (27.68).
Alex Mecca finished third in the 500 free (6:41.07).
"It was a great meet today," said head coach
Bill Bradley. "It's always exciting to get back to competing after our hiatus of meets over winter break. It's a chance to see all the improvements we made to our swimming in practice during that time pay off in a meet. We saw lots of season best times and personal records today."
