FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's tennis team came up short Saturday in a conference matchup against Oswego. The Lakers defeated the Devils by a final score of 7-2.
Despite the quick turnaround, the Devils showed some improvement in singles competition earning two wins on the day.
Sierra Allen earned a point for the Devils in match five winning her first set 6-4 and second set 6-1.
Sophie Olson in match six would respond big after dropping the first set 7-6 and would go on to win the next two sets to win her match.
"The entire team worked hard today. I am pleased with the teams progress and the team is looking forward to playing Houghton and Geneseo this up coming week", noted Head Coach Jane Gens.
The Devils will hit the road next for a non conference match up against Houghton College Monday September,11th.
