Fredonia N.Y. -- The Fredonia Blue Devils came up just short of a victory on senior night, with a final score of 10-8 in favor of SUNY Plattsburgh.
Cailin Karalus opened the scoring today with two unanswered goals. Finishing out the first for Fredonia was
Emma Cockerel, netting a goal with 19 seconds left in the quarter as the Blue Devils took the 3-1 lead into the second.
Plattsburgh responded immediately, holding Fredonia to only two goals in the second. Plattsburgh's Lindsay Guzzetta completed her hat trick to lead the Cardinals to a 7-5 lead at the half. Karalus also completed for hat trick for Fredonia in the second with her 19th tally of the season.
Despite only being down by two going into the second, turnovers turned to be a costly factor for the Blue Devils as they gave up 14 possessions during the second half.
