BOXSCORE BUFFALO, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's lacrosse team comes up just short to Buffalo State, falling to the Bengals by final score of 13-15 in yet another great Battle By The Lake contest.Â
Julie Culver had a impressive outing for the Devils as she racked up six goals on the night and two assists. Players
Cailin Karalus and
Sydney Buchko each tallied two goals as well.Â
Fredonia State would come out aggressive to start the game with three different Devils finding the back of the net to go up three to nothing in the first. After a Buff State goal the Devils would score again in the quaters final minute and again as time expired to go into the second quarter up 5-1.Â
Both teams would exchange a pair of goals mid way through the second but the Bengals would flip the switch, outscoring the Devils three to one and cut the lead to just two with a score of eight to six in favor of Fredonia State.Â
To start the second half the Devils would score three unanswered goals but the Bengals would respond by scoring five strait goals to tie the game at 11. Fredonia State would recapture the lead off a free position shot from Culver but that would be it as the Bengals scored three strait goals to put the game out of reach.Â
Goalie
Emily Carr would finish the night with 16 saves for the Devils with Buchko adding seven draw controls. Buff State was lead by Emilee Josker who would have seven goals and Vanessa Wilick with five goals.Â
Fredonia State drops to 5-9 on the season and 0-6 in SUNYAC play. They next travel to Potsdam for a 11:00 A.M. battle wih the Bears.Â
