DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The Fredonia State Blue Devil Cheerleaders competed this past week at the Nationals Cheerleaders Association (NCA) College Nationals in Daytona Beach, Florida. After the initial prelimary round that is worth 25% of their final score, they came in scoring 8 & 9's in the areas of Stunts, Jumps, Choreography, Overall Effect, Standing Tumbling, Running Tumbling, and a 10 in the category of Collegiate Image.
The team faced a 1.25 deductions for a stunt bobble and a small building fail. Heading in to finals, the team went back to practicing to improve areas of their routine for the final round the next day.
With a few improvements, the team reduced their deduction to 1.00 and increased their overall performance score.
The Blue Devil Cheerleaders are proud to say that they ranked in the Top 10 of the Intermediate All Girl D3 Division placing 9th with a score of 86.8635, ranking over Eastern Connecticut State University, University of Mary Washington, and Adrian College. The overall winner of the division was Salisbury University with a score of 94.7245.
