NEW PALTZ -- The Fredonia State Blue Devils traveled to SUNY New Paltz for a SUNYAC matchup against the Hawks. The third conference game of the season was another hard fought game for the Devils. Unfortunately, they just couldn't keep up with the Hawks as they fell 11-3.
The first quarter saw three unanswered goals from SUNY New Paltz, as Kaitlyn Shaw tallied a pair for the Hawks. Fredonia then went to work in the second quarter defensively, shutting down New Paltz to the lone goal scored in the quarter.
Fredonia carried their momentum into the third by adding their first tally of the day, as
Audrey Brown opened the scoring for the Blue Devils roughly five minutes into the third quarter.
Despite keeping New Paltz off the board for the first 10 minutes of the third, the Hawks would then go on a six goal run, which carried over into the final quarter of the game. Fredonia found the back of the net twice in the fourth, with
Audrey Brown's second of the day, and
Molly McGowan adding one to the count as well.
Emily Carr finished with 10 saves, and Gabriella Tommaso had seven saves.
The Blue Devils will host Brockport on Tuesday, April 4th at 4:00 p.m. for their next matchup.
