WESTMINSTER, Pa. -- The Fredonia State baseball team dropped a pair of games at Westminster despite rallying twice, 14-8 and 5-4. In Game 2, they scored twice in the sixth and twice in the seventh before stranding the tying run at third base in the 5-4 loss.
Game 1
Down 8-5, the Devils used a three-run double from
Jake Wentland to knot the game at eight in the top of the sixth. However, a six-run bottom of the inning for the Titans proved to be the difference.
Wentland worked a full count, and with the runners moving, drove the ball to deep left field to tie the game.
The Devils mounted nine hits in the seven-inning affair, scoring in five of the seven innings.Â
Wentland,
Ethan Behnke, and
Matt Wojcik each had two hits. Behnke had a pair of doubles and two RBI, while Wentland and Wojcik each added a double.

Nate O'Brochta went 2.0 innings and took the loss on the mound.

Game 2
The Devils were held in check until the sixth inning. A rare bases-loaded catcher's interference plated the first run. A groundout by
Jeremy Rosado plated the second run.
In the seventh, the Devils loaded the bases with nobody out. After a strikeout,
Garrett Stuckey scored on a wild pitch. Wojcik then drove home Behnke with a sacrifice fly and Wentland moved up to third. Westminster then recorded the final out on a strikeout to end the game.Â
