ROCHESTER, N.Y - The Fredonia State track and field team saw a number of positive results in its meet at RIT on Saturday.
Christopher Gualtieri qualified for the SUNYAC Meet in the pole vault, while
Jacob Winn solidified his standing as a threat in the 60m dash.
Gualtieri finished fourth overall in a field of 15 in the pole vault. He cleared 3.80m (12' 5½") to qualify for the conference meet. Teammate
Ethan Pocock missed qualifying by one cm, clearing 3.65m (11' 11¾"). He finished in eighth place.
Winn would claim third place out of 37 competitors in the 60m. His 7.29 in the prelims sent him to the finals. The top three in the finals were tightly packed, finishing with times of 7.22, 7.23, and Winn's 7.24.
Winn took sixth in a field of 48 sprinters in the 200, crossing the finish line in 23.70 seconds. Winn -- who had posted Regional qualifying times in a previous meet -- solidified his standing again reaching Regional qualifications in both the 200m and 60m.
Patrick Klinger was second in the 5000m in a Regional-qualifying time of 15:49.03.
Kyle Campbell finished seventh in a field of 25 with a time of 16:10.02.
Collin Cassidy cleared 1.76m (5' 9¼") in the high jump, finishing 10th out of 19.
Cameron Sample was 25th of 45 in the long jump with a leap of 6.00m (19' 8¼").
