FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State Women's Tennis team fell to Penn State Behrend, 6-3, on Friday night. This loss drops the Blue Devils record to 0-6 overall and 0-3 in the SUNYAC.
Three Blue Devils were able to gain victories within singles.
Bella Surma won in two sets, over Rachael Weber. In the first set Surma won 6-3, and 6-1 in the second.
Caitlin Snyder took down Jayna Baer in three sets. In the first, Snyder won 6-4 and then lost 2-6 in the second set. She was able to come back strong in the third set, winning 10-6.
Sierra Allen also took down her opponent, Madison Gannon, in two sets. Allen won 6-2 within the first and 6-3 in the second set.
All three victories were the first of the season for each individual athlete.
Violet Hess was able to take her opponent to three sets, but was unable to gain the victory. She won the first set 7-6, but then dropped back-to-back sets with scores of 1-6 and 10-12.
Other contributors in the singles matches consisted of
Gabby Gance who won two games (1-6, 1-6) and
Lexi Hawley who won one game (0-6, 1-6).

Elizabeth Houser both fell 0-8.
Marissa Rackwitz and Anna Sheehan fell 3-8 for their first match of the season.
The team is back in action on Friday, at D'Youville College.
