ONEONTA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State softball team dropped a pair of games at Oneonta on Tuesday. They dropped Game 1 by a score of 9-1, and fell 3-0 in the nightcap.
Game 1Â
Allie Wandell led off the game with a base hit. She was sacrificed to second and would come around to score on a error on the next play. Unfortunately, that would be all the offense the Devils would muster.Â
After being held in check the first inning, Oneonta would score in each of the next four innings for the win.
The Devils were held to six hits, with
Maria Caviris and
Marisa Sultana each going 2 for 2.
Game 2
Despite another strong performance by
Emily Chelius, the Devils were held to two hits and fell 3-0. Chelius went six innings, gave up seven hits, struck out three, and surrendered three runs.
Alyssa Piniewski and
Alyssa Santiago had the hits for Fredonia State.
The Devils fall to 6-18 overall and 3-5 in the SUNYAC. Oneonta is now 16-7 and 7-1 in the conference.
