GENESEO, N.Y -- The Geneseo Knights defeated the Fredonia State women's basketball team, 60-50, on Friday night.
Renee Park poured in 19 points and had three assists to pace the Devils' attack.
Lauren Mickley had nine points and a team-high six rebounds.
Mary Culeton had five rebounds and five assists.
Geneseo scored first and maintained a narrow lead through the first quarter outscoring the Devils,19-17.
The Devils never led, but did tie the game at 23-all in the second quarter following a layup by Park.
The Devils pulled within a point twice in the third period, the last time coming at 31-30 after a bucket by Makenna Nechwedowich. Geneseo then went on an 8-0 run and was able to maintain the lead the rest of the way.
Geneseo improves its record to 12-5 in the SUNYAC and 16-8 overall.
The Devils (11-13 overall) need to win tomorrow at Oswego and need some help to land the sixth seed in the SUNYAC. Potsdam (7-10), Brockport (6-10) and Fredonia State (6-10) are all vying for the final spot.
