FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's volleyball team fell three sets to one to Brockport in Friday's SUNYAC matchup at Dods Hall. After dropping the first set, 25-19, they claimed the second, 25-21. Brockport took the final two sets, 25-21 and 25-20.
The Devils made a run of it in the fourth set. Down 18-10, they scored eight of the next 10 points to pull within two, 20-18, before the visitors closed out the match.
Erin Callahan paced the offense with 12 kills and
Gabrielle Sordetto added seven kills and a pair of aces.
Kourtney Krchniak had 27 assists.
Defensively,
Gabrielle Chilcott had 20 digs and
Madeline Reid had a pair of blocks.
The loss drops the Devils to 4-17 overall, and 2-6 in the SUNYAC, eliminating them from post-season contention with one more conference match to go.
Brockport ups it record to 17-5 and 7-1 in conferenece play.
