Second-half goal downs Devils

FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's soccer team fell to Oswego, 2-1, in a rainy, cold match on Wednesday. Tied 1-all, the Lakers scored two-and-a-half minutes into the second frame to claim the victory.

Talia DeFay got the Devils on the board early with her second goal of the season. She was assisted by Bri Grazen 9:13 into the game, staking the Devils to a 1-0 lead.

Brianna Winkler tied the game for the Lakers, with a score in the 29th minute. Early in the second half, Luigina Serrao knocked in the game winner. Emma Rechtorovic assisted on both scores.

Dani Rubino made two saves in goal for the Devils.Bri Grazen and Jordan Barrett both had two shots to lead the team.

Perri Anderson was credited with two saves for Oswego.

The loss drops the Devis to 0-6-2 in the SUNYAC, and 2-8-4 overall. Oswego improves to 3-3-2, and 8-5-3 overall.

The Devils play host to Oneonta on Saturday. The team will recognize its seniors prior to the game.
