FREDONIA, N.Y. --- Fredonia State took down SUNYAC opponent, Buffalo State 4-2, to sweep the Bengals in the "Battle by the Lake" this season. The Blue Devils were lead by Chandler Judd (Goal and Assist), Johnny Malandruccolo (Goal and Assist), Ethan Kirbis (Goal), and Kurri Woodford (Goal). Another great performance from the goaltender Logan Dyck, who stopped 31 out of 33 shots on goal.

In the first period, the Blue Devils found themselves behind 1-0 after a goal from Bengals forward Joe Glamos. Kurri of Fredonia State answered back quickly by netting a goal 49 seconds later to tie the game up at 1-1. The goal was assisted by Parker Brakebill and Ryan Bailey, while the Devils were on a powerplay. The Devils were not finished as they increased their lead to 2-1 after another powerplay goal by Kirbis, from Malandruccolo and Judd, at the 15:21 mark of the period.

The second period was all Fredonia State, as they dominated the score sheet with 2 unanswered goals. The Devils' third goal of the game was scored by Malandruccolo, assisted by Anders Johnson, at the 6:55 mark of the period. The Devils' fourth and last goal of the game came off of an odd man rush, where Jake Blackwell found Chandler Judd on the backdoor, to clinch the game. Fredonia State's final goal came only 35 seconds after the goal before, at the 7:30 mark of the second period.

The third period was focused mainly on defense, as Fredonia State looked to hold onto their 3 goal lead. This effort was halted as Bengals forward, A.J. Marinelli found the back of the net at 9:02, to bring the game to 4-2. This goal did not hold much impact over the game, as the Blue Devils held strong to close the game out at 4-2. 

Fredonia State out shot Buffalo State 37 to 33.

Blue Devils look to continue their 3 game winning streak against SUNYAC opponent, Oswego State tomorrow in Oswego.
