HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State men's track team opened its season at Houghton on Saturday.
Nick Abdo's second place finish in the 200m was the top Blue Devil Performance in a meet that featured over a dozen teams, including some DI squads.
Abdo finished the 200 with a time of 22.85.
Josh Walters put together a solid all around meet. He was third in the 800m (2:01.29), sixth in the mile (4:39), and was part of the third place 4x800 relay squad (8:51.63).
Sembel Koshi,
Joseph Hernandez Bentley, and
Ted Tomasello formed that quartet.
The team focused on using this first meet to build upon as they are early on in their training with athletes competing in multiple events, not typical of a meet later in the season.
"Good strong training meet for both genders", said head coach
Tom Wilson. "Really excited to see the entire team work hard through this week and weekend. Now it's time to reflect on this meet and prepare for our short week into RIT on Friday."
