Kreem George's double-double was not enough, as the Fredonia State men's basketball team fell to Potsdam, 79-69, on Saturday. George had 14 points and 10 rebounds to pace the offense.
Adesoji Tiamiyu added a career-high 15 points, and
Aaron Collins chipped in 12 points.
Potsdam controlled much of the game, with the Devils only lead coming early in the first half. Collins hit a jumper to give the Devils a 6-5 lead. A 7-0 run put Potsdam up six, 12-6, and they would hold the lead the rest of the way.
Potsdam would amass a 14-point lead at three different points in the half, before the Devils rallied late to cut the deficit to five, 38-33, on a 12-3 run going into the break.
.The Devils outrebounded Potsdam, 45-43, and hit seven threes to Potsdam's five.
Potsdam held an advantage at the line, going to the stripe 33 times, but only made 54 percent (18-33). The Devils nine trips to the line resulted in six points.
Four Bears were in double digits, with Brandon Segar's 19 off the bench topping the squad. Potsdam improves to 7-6 and 5-3 in the SUNYAC.
Fredonia State falls to 1-15 and 1-8 in the SUNYAC. The team takes on Plattsburgh on Sunday.
