FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia State women's lacrosse program will not play the remainder of its 2021 season due to health and safety concerns stemming from COVID-19.
The Chautauqua County Department of Health on Tuesday announced the need for members of the team to quarantine for the next 10 days based on their direct contact with a person who had tested positive for the COVID-19 virus. There are only four days left in the regular season as of Tuesday.,
The Blue Devils had played eight contests, going 2-6 overall and 1-4 in the SUNYAC, with games remaining at Buffalo State on Wednesday and Geneseo on Thursday, before they were to host Oswego to conclude the season on Saturday.
