SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Four Fredonia State Women's Soccer players earned SUNYAC All-Conference honors following the 2021 season which saw the team reach the SUNYAC Semifinals.
Junior defender,
Izzy Audette (Ballston Spa, N.Y.) received first-team honors. Junior
Gabby Alston (Niskayuna, N.Y.) was named a second-team forward. Third-team honors were awarded to
Bri Grazen (Lancaster, N.Y.), a second-year forward and third-year goalkeeper,
Sabrina Suriani (Manlius, N.Y.).
Audette earned all-conference honors for the second time in her career. The captain anchored the defense for the Blue Devils during her six conference games, five of which were starts. The center back also added a goal and an assist over her 442 minutes of conference play.
Overall, the Ballston Spa native played in 16 games, earning 15 starts. She finished the season with two goals and one assist, earning five points overall and contributed 1,259 minutes for Fredonia State.
Alston is seeing conference recognition for the first time in her career. The junior contributed five points on two goals and an assist during nine games of conference action. Overall, Alston led the Blue Devils with 17 points, co-leading her team with seven goals.
Playing in 19 games with 16 starts, the forward's seven goals were good for a fourth place tie in the SUNYAC.
Grazen's third-team honors come after her first season of competition. The forward finished with five points on one goal and three assists in conference play.
Overall, the sophomore had a third-best 12 points for the Blue Devils. Over 13 starts on the season, Grazen accumulated four goals and a co-high four assists.
Suriani rounds out all-conference honors after a stellar season in net. The junior started and played every minute of the team's ten conference games. Suriani earned a .859 save percentage while averaging .96 goals against. With a 5-3-2 record, the captain accumulated 61 saves.
The Manlius native earned SUNYAC Defensive Player of the Week honors early in the season on September 7
th.
Overall, the netminder started in played in all 20 games for Fredonia State. Over 1,772 minutes of play, she averaged a .842 save percentage, 1.07 goals against, and 5.6 saves per game, all good for fourth-best in the conference.
