CORTLAND, N.Y. -- The Cortland Red Dragons shot 54 percent from the floor, and went 17 of 36 (47 percent) from three-point range in defeating Fredonia State, 96-66, on Saturday.
Tyler Roberts led the Devils with 17 points and had three assists, and
De'Quan Smith added 15 points.
Dydy Bryan added 13 points, five steals, and four assists.
Cortland opened the game with back-to-back three pointers. The Devils would battle back and take an 11-10 lead. Smith nailed a three pointer at the 13:38 mark to give the Devils their only lead of the game.
Cortland scored the next 10 points. By the half, the Dragons expanded their lead to 54-33.
For Fredonia, Roberts would collect four three-point baskets, and Smith had three. The Devils could not match Cortland's hot shooting, connecting on 33 percent of their shots.
Cortland improved to 9-2 overall and 3-1 in the SUNYAC. Austin Grunder turned in a 25-point, 18-rebound performance. Ryan Schmadel finished the game with six three pointers and 22 points.
Fredonia State (3-6 / 0-3) is back in SUNYAC action on Tuesday with a third-straight road game at Geneseo.
