FREDONIA, NY - The Fredonia State men's basketball team fell to the Cortland Red Dragons by a score of 82-68 on Friday evening.

Fredonia State had five players in double-digit scoring. Dydy Bryan led with 12 points and five assists while shooting 6-for-7 from the field. He continues to lead the SUNYAC in field goal percentage.Â

Moussa Samassa had 11 points along with eight rebounds. De'Quan Smith, Tyler Roberts and Chad Biersbach all accounted for 10 points each.Â

Fredonia State opened the game with a 5-0 lead. They would hang on to the lead until the 9:18 mark of the half. Up 17-16, Cortland's Eric Edwards would convert a layup and give the Dragons a lead they would not surrender. They were up 38-26 at the break.Â

The start of the second half began with three-straight three pointers by Cortland's Jake DiSanto. After a basket by Samassa, DiSanto nailed another three to put Cortland up 50-28.
The Devils answered with a 15-4 run to cut the lead to 11 with just under 15 minutes left to play. Two possessions later, a three pointer from Smith cut the lead to 10 points, 56-46, but the Devils would get no closer.

Cortland caught fire in the second half behind the arc, hitting nine threes in 20 attempts (45 percent). They had 15 for the game, while the Devils hit on seven long-range baskets.
The Red Dragons ended the night with five players in double-digit scoring, led by Eric Edwards with 16. Cortland moves to 11-6 overall with a 5-5 SUNYAC record.

The Blue Devils drop to 7-10 and 3-7 in the SUNYAC. They play host to Oswego Saturday with tipoff slated for 2 p.m.
