FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Medaille's Ali Mitchell scored on a free kick late in the 99th minute to send Fredonia State men's soccer to its second straight 1-0 overtime loss.

Mitchell's shot over a wall of Blue Devils (2-3-2) came from the left and just outside the 18-yard box. The ball sailed into the upper left corner out of reach of Fredonia State senior goaltender Ty Bentham.

It was the lone blemish on Bentham's record, which consisted of eight saves, including several difficult stops. His teammates were outshot 14-8 overall. Medaille also had an edge in corner kicks, 4-3.

The best scoring change by either team in the first half came in the 45th minute. Medaille's Kabura Elias took a short pass and slipped through the Fredonia defense and fired a hard, low shot which Bentham dove to stop. It was his only save of the first half.

The Blue Devils appeared to break the scoreless tie late in the second half, only to have the tally wiped out by an offside penalty. 

Fredonia is back at home Saturday afternoon when they entertain Allegheny at 2 p.m.
