BOXSCORE BROCKPORT, N.Y. -- The Golden Eagles of Brockport put up a challenge, but the Fredonia State women's tennis team continued to roll, winning 6-3 and improving its season record to 5-0 on Saturday.
The Devils took the top four singles and second and third doubles. Brockport earned wins in fifth and six singles, and No. 1 doubles.
In singles,
Sarah Bunk took the No. 1 spot with 6-0, 6-4 wins;
Anna Chiacchia took No. 2 with 6-2, 6-1 wins;
Mikayla Johnson won 6-3, 6-1 at No. 3; andÂ
Jane Chiacchia won 6-3, 6-3 in fourth singles.
Johnson and Bunk won No. 2 doubles with an 8-3 score, and
Taylor Marelli and
Avril King avenged their singles defeats by winning No. 3Â doubles, 8-4.
It was also the first conference match for Fredonia. Brockport falls to 2-2.
