BOXSCORE MEADVILLE, PA -- For the second straight match, the Fredonia women's volleyball team went to five sets, and for the second straight time, came away with an exciting 3-2 win. This time, they defeated the Allegheny Gators to improve to 4-6.
The Devils won the first set 25-17, before dropping the second and third sets 25-15 and 25-20. They rebounded with a dominating 25-11 win in the fourth set.
In the back-and-forth fifth, neither team led by more than two points at any point, before the Devils prevailed 18-16.
Emily Leone (LeRoy, N.Y. / LeRoy) had 13 kills with only one error, including the final kill of the match.
Emma Booth (Hamburg, N.Y. / Frontier) followed with 11 kills.
Kourtney Krchniak (Lockport, N.Y. / Lockport) led the Devils with 41 assists.
Sierra Keim (Shinglehouse, Pa. / Portville) had 22 digs.
Caroline Roy (Glenwood, N.Y. / Springville) had five blocks.
"Leone developed to our go-to for the match and her efforts, especially on offense, made a huge difference for us tonight," said head coach

The Devils spend the night in Meadville, Pa., and take on Thiel and North Carolina Wesleyan on Saturday.
