CORTLAND, N.Y. -- St. Lawrence University got the better of the Blue Devils, winning 3-2, on Saturday at the Cortland Red Dragon Volleyball Classic. Fredonia finished the Classic with a 3-0 loss to Lebanon Valley.
After the concusion of the action,
Emma Booth (Hamburg, N.Y. / Frontier) was named to the All-Tournament Team.
Fredonia dropped the first set of the morning 25-19, won the next two, 25-16 and 25-23, then lost the final two, 21-25 and 8-15.
Booth had 13 kills and
Emily Jones (Plainfield, Ill. / Joliet Catholic) had 12 kills in 17 attempts for a .588 kill percentage.
Kourtney Krchniak (Lockport, N.Y. / Lockport) had 45 assists.
Sierra Keim (Shinglehouse, Pa. / Portville) had 25 of the Devils' 70 digs.
Selena Brown (South Ozone Park, N.Y. / Hillcrest) had six blocks.
Lebonon Valley downed the Devils 27-26, 25-16, and 25-20.
Booth and Jones again paced the offense, with nine and eight kills, respectively, and Krchniak distributed 30 assists while collecting five service aces.
Defensively, Keim had 19 digs and Booth had seven blocks.
Fredonia stands at 1-3 and will play in the Penn State Behrend Invite next weekend.
