BOXSCORE SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Fredonia fell to Oswego State on Saturday night, 11-3, in the first game of a three-game SUNYAC baseball series at Onondaga Community College.

Luke Kuczewski to break a 2-2 tie. Winning pitcher Nick DeMarco scattered six hits over seven innings.
Russell Mistretta, Pat Bigham, and
Brian Chatt had one RBI each for the Blue Devils (11-19 overall, 8-8 SUNYAC), who qualified for the SUNYAC Tournament earlier in the day when Plattsburgh lost to New Paltz, 16-3. Plattsburgh's loss guaranteed the Blue Devils a spot in the four-team tournament next weekend in Cortland.
The season-ending series with Oswego State shifts to Maine-Endwell High School in Binghamton for two games Sunday starting at noon.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- A two-run double by Brandon Nicholson gave the Lakers a 2-0 lead in the top of the first.
- The Devils made it 2-2 on the third. Tyler Phillips singled and scored on a double by Chatt, plus an Oswego error. Chatt moved to third on a single by Nicolas Fiore and scored on Mistretta's sacrifice fly.
- Another two-run double by Nicholson followed by Nick Chilson put Oswego on top, 5-2. The Lakers added single runs in the sixth and seventh innings and four runs in the eighth, while Nicholson picked up his fifth RBI.
