BOXSCORE SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Fredonia fell to Oswego State on Saturday night, 11-3, in the first game of a three-game SUNYAC baseball series at Onondaga Community College.

The Lakers scored three runs in the fifth off losing pitcher Luke Kuczewski to break a 2-2 tie. Winning pitcher Nick DeMarco scattered six hits over seven innings.

Russell Mistretta, Pat Bigham, and Brian Chatt had one RBI each for the Blue Devils (11-19 overall, 8-8 SUNYAC), who qualified for the SUNYAC Tournament earlier in the day when Plattsburgh lost to New Paltz, 16-3. Plattsburgh's loss guaranteed the Blue Devils a spot in the four-team tournament next weekend in Cortland.

The season-ending series with Oswego State shifts to Maine-Endwell High School in Binghamton for two games Sunday starting at noon.
