WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- The Fredonia Blue Devils split with Utica College on Tuesday evening, and fell to No. 18 ranked Concordia-Chicago on Wednesday morning mid-way through their Spring Training Trip in Central Florida. The Devils took down Utica, 12-4, before falling 7-4 in the nightcap. The Devils struck first, but could not answer Concordia's onslaught, falling 12-1 against the Cougars.

Kevin Yirinec collected six RBI in the first game against the Utica Pioneers as the Blue Devils extended their winning streak to four straight games.
Yirinec had a three-run double in the first inning, and RBI double in the fourth, and an RBI double in the seventh. He also walked and scored twice.
Tyler Phillips, Nicholas Fiore,
William Clifford,
Matt Heffernan, and
Billy Sanborn each had two hits, and Phillips scored three runs. Fiore added three RBI. The Blue Devils collected 15 hits overall and scored in all but one inning.
Anthony Kinney picked up with pitching win with 2 2/3 innings of scoreless relief. He allowed one hit and struck out four of the nine batters he faced.
Kenneth Jaroszek added three innings of scoreless relief, earning the save.
Game two saw the Pioneers score six unearned runs in the second inning. Three straight errors opened the second frame. Add in three hits and two more defensive miscues, and the Pioneers were up 6-0 after the top of . two
Fredonia got on the board with a line-shot sacrifice fly by
Tylor Murphy in the bottom of the inning.
They would tack on three more in the fourth inning to cut the lead to 6-4. Russ Mistretta and
Kevin Yirinec had RBI and a third run scored on a wild pitch.
Utica tacked on another run in the sixth to give the final.
Against Concordia, the Devils struck first with singles by Clifford,
Patrick Bigham, and
Jon Morrison. However, that would be all the offense they would muster.
Concordia used the longball to score 10 of its 12 runs, including a pair of grand slams and a two-run blast.
The Devils stand at 6-5 heading into their off day. They take on SUNY New Paltz in SUNYAC action on Friday and Saturday to wrap up their southern swing.
