HOUGHTON, N.Y. -- The Fredonia women's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 match at Houghton on Tuesday. They lost 18-25, 25-23, 21-25, and 23-25 and drop their overall record to 7-12. Houghton improved to 14-3.
Christie Ackendorf (Amherst, N.Y. / Sweet Home) led the Devils with eight kills, and
Emily Leone (LeRoy, N.Y. / LeRoy) added seven.
Bridget Murphy (Cattaraugus, N.Y. / Cattaraugus-Little Valley) and
Kourtney Krchniak (Lockport, N.Y. / Lockport) had 19 assists each, with Krchniak recording four of the Devils' 12 aces.
Emma Falk (York, N.Y. / Our Lady of Mercy) added six kills and six blocks.
Emily Jones (Plainfield, Ill. / Joliet Catholic) and
Eleanor Clarke (Hamburg, N.Y. / Hamburg) each had six kills.
Sierra Keim (Shinglehouse, Pa. / Portville) added 16 digs.
Amy Huddle and Brooke Lewandowski combined for 28 kills for the Highlanders.
Fredonia returns to the court this Saturday with a tri-match involving U of R and Susquehanna. The Devils open play with Susquehanna beginning at 11 a.m.
