FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia completed a weekend men's hockey sweep of Stevenson with a 1-0 win Saturday afternoon at the Steele Hall Ice Arena.
Senior goaltender
Eric Bogart (London, Ont.) made 29 saves to register his first shutout of the season -- his second as a collegian -- and senior forward
Todd Schauss (Terryville, Conn.) scored the lone goal early in the second period as the Blue Devils improved to 10-2-2 overall, including a 3-1 win over the Mustangs (5-9-0) on Friday night.
Bogart's biggest save came late in the first period when he stretched to stop a wrap-around attempt. A scrum in front of the net ensued with senior forward
Luke Rivera (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) blocking a shot while laying in the crease.
Bogart improved to 7-0-0 this season while lowering his goals-against average of 2.09. He was named Blue Devil Booster Club Player of the Game as well as the No. 1 star. Schauss earned the No. 2 star for his game-winner at 2:38 of the second period, assisted by Rivera. It was the fifth goal of the season by Schauss, and his first game-winner.
Stevenson goaltender Riley McVeigh was the No. 3 star. He made 27 saves.
The Blue Devils play their final non-conference regular-season game Thursday at Chatham, a game rescheduled from Oct. 27.Â
