BOXSCORE FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia volleyball team swept Allegheny, 3-0, using a late rally in a 26-24 third-set win to earn its tenth victory of the season. Down late in the third, the Devils scored three of the final four points to win its home opener.
They took the first two sets by scores of 26-24 and 25-10.
As a team, the Blue Devils accumulated 14 service aces, led by
Emily Jones (Plainfield, Ill. / Joliet Catholic) with four.
Rachel Aiello (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / C.W. Baker) and
Kailey Falk (York, N.Y. / Our Lady of Mercy) had three apiece.
Emma Booth (Hamburg, N.Y. / Frontier) had nine kills and
SallyAnne Rudny (Jamestown, N.Y. / Southwestern) had eight.
Amanda Mosack (Webster, N.Y. / Webster Schroeder) had 31 assists.
Rudny led the defense with 11 digs.
Allegheny fell to 5-12 overall. They were led by Alysha Crowther and Grace Lengauer with five kills apiece.
Fredonia (10-5) returns to Dods Hall this weekend as they play host to Ithaca and Capital in a tri-match.
