BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Fredonia sophomore
Christian Krasnek (Springville, N.Y. / Griffith Institute) finished second in men's 3-meter springboard diving on the opening day of the 2018 SUNYAC Swimming & Diving championship meet.
Krasnek scored 523.20 points for 11 dives (he had a score of 544.25 in the preliminary round) to finish behind Geneseo's Samuel Randall, who had a winning score of 584.70 points. Blue Devil freshman
Patrick McCormick (Grand Island, N.Y. / Canisius) finished seventh with a finals score of 392.70 points (401.55 during preliminaries).
Krasnek's score was an NCAA Division III zone qualifying total and resulted in his best finish at a SUNYAC meet.
In the only swimming meet on Wednesday, Fredonia finished fifth in both the men's and women's 800-yard freestyle relays. The men's quartet of senior

Bill Bradley (Dunkirk, N.Y. / Dunkirk), sophomore
Pat Woods (Hamburg, N.Y. / Frontier), and senior
Nathan Link (Grand Island, N.Y. / Grand Island) touched out at 7:04.50 -- nearly 17 seconds faster than their qualifying time and one of the fastest times in the event in Fredonia men's history.

Alyson Baumann (North Tonawanda, N.Y. / Niagara Wheatfield), senior
Taylor Chwalinski (West Seneca, N.Y. / West Seneca West), freshman
Erin Kalsman (Portville, N.Y. / Portville), and sophomore
Sam Angrignon (East Aurora, N.Y. / Iroquois) timed out in 8:09.68 -- an improvement of just over 20 seconds from their qualifying time.
