POTSDAM, N.Y. – Fredonia continued its hot start with a 4-2 win Friday over Potsdam in SUNYAC men's hockey.
The Blue Devils improved to 7-1-1 overall – their best start in 14 years – and 4-1-0 in the conference. They extended their unbeaten streak to seven games.
Four different players had one goal each for Fredonia.
Ryan Dunn (Rockland, Mass.) and
Tyler Riter (Orchard Park, N.Y.) scored in the first period.
Colin Valentine (Turnersville, N.J.) scored in the third and was credited with the game-winner.
Luke Rivera (Pacific Palisades, Calif.) salted the game away with an empty-netter with just over one minute left.

Ethan Clark scored the first Potsdam goal early in the second period. Tyler Young scored with just over five minutes left in the game to cut the Fredonia lead to 3-2.
Fredonia's seven-game unbeaten streak (6-0-1) is its longest since a 13-game streak (12-0-1) during the 2004-05 season. That was also the last time the Blue Devils had seven wins this early in the season. The seventh win that season came on Nov. 17, 2004.
The Blue Devils will look to extend their streak Saturday when they face Plattsburgh at 7 p.m. in the Stafford Arena.
