ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- The Fredonia women's volleyball team reached the 20-win plateau with a pair of wins on Saturday. The Devils cruised past Lycoming, 25-20, 25-14, and 25-21. They wrote off Penn 25-12, 25-15, and 25-17. The women finish the season at 21-9 before heading into the post-season.
Two Blue Devils were named to the New York Regional Challenge All-Tournament Team: junior setter
Amanda Mosack (Webster, N.Y. / Webster Schroeder) and freshman middle blocker-opposite
Christie Ackendorf (Buffalo, N.Y. / Sweet Home).
Against Lycoming,
SallyAnne Rudny (Jamestown, N.Y. / Southwestern) led the offense 13 kills and four aces.
Kailey Falk (York, N.Y. / Our Lady of Mercy) added nine kills.
Selena Brown (South Ozone Park, N.Y. / Hillcrest) led the defense with four blocks, and
Rachel Aiello (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / C.W. Baker) had 14 digs.
Emma Booth led the attack against Penn with nine kills, and Falk had seven kills and four aces. Aiello added five aces and had a team-high 10 digs.
Mosack had 61 digs in the two matches.
The Devils play host to Potsdam in the first round of the SUNYAC Tournament on Tuesday. Game time is set for 6 p.m. in Dods Hall.
