FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia women's basketball team cruised to a 65-35 victory over Potsdam on Friday.
Jenna Einink (Westfield, N.Y. / Chautauqua Lake) led the way with 19 points and 12 rebounds.
Justice Nauden (Waterport, N.Y. / Albion) added 13 points off the bench, going five of six from the field.
The Devils started slowly allowing Potsdam to tie the game late in the first quarter. A layup by Potsdam's Keme Fofana tied it at 10-all with 1:38 to play.
Emily Lasher (Wilson, N.Y. / Wilson) nailed a three to put the Devils back up 13-10.
After a free throw by the Bears, Nauden nailed a three to make it 16-11 at the end on one quarter.
With Fredonia up 21-18 early in the second, the Devils rattled off 11-straight points to go up 32-18. A layup by Potsdam's Riley Luckie to close the first half ended the run.
Up 38-24 in the third, the Devils went on a 10-1 run to go up 48-25.
The Devils outscored Potsdam 16-5 in the fourth quarter to give the final score.
Jacque Law (Lime Lake, N.Y. / Pioneer) added nine points and a team-high four steals for the Devils.
Potsdam (1-9, 0-4 SUNYAC) was led by Hannah Marcellus with seven points. They struggled from the field, shooting 21 percent from the floor, including just three of 24 from beyond the arc.
The Blue Devils improve to 5-7 overall and 3-2 in the SUNYAC. They play host to Plattsburgh on Saturday. Tip off is slated for 1 p.m. in Steele Hall.
