BOXSCORE 1 | BOXSCORE 2 CORTLAND, N.Y --  Fredonia volleyball team split a pair of  matches at the Cortland Red Dragon Volleyball Classic on Saturday. The Devils defeated Coast Guard 3-1 and fell to Juniate by the same score.

Against Coast Guard. the Devils won 25-23, 25-20, 22-25, and 25-16. Kristen Stanek (Hamburg, N.Y. / Orchard Park) had 22 kills and Hallie Christopher (East Amherst, N.Y. / Clarence) had 48 assists. Kailey Falk (York, N.Y. / Our Lady of Mercy) added four aces.

The Blue Devil defense totaled 80 digs, led by Courtney Poirier (West Seneca, N.Y. / West Seneca West) with 19.

In the second match of the day, they fell to Juniata 25-27, 24-26, 25-19, and 18-25.

Stanek had19 kills and Christopher 42 assists. Poirier again led the defense with 28 digs.

Stanek was named to the All Tournament Team at the conclusion of the weekend.

Fredonia is now 2-2 on the season, and travels to Allegheny College on Tuesday.
