FREDONIA, N.Y. -- Fredonia led early but could not hang on and fell to Geneseo, 13-10, in women's lacrosse Wednnesday at University Stadium.
The Blue Devils (3-13 overall / 2-5 SUNYAC) took a 5-2 lead on goals by
Audrey Yokopovich (Webster, N.Y.),
Madeline Haney (Macedon, N.Y,),
Katie Miller (Hamburg, N.Y.),
Samantha Spiess (Fairport, N.Y.), and another by Miller.
The Knight scored the next four goals and eight of the next nine to take command and improve their mark to 4-3 in the conference, 7-7 overall. Tessa Doody and Maddie Lee had three goals each.
The loss eliminated Fredonia from a SUNYAC playoff contention.

Nicole Burrows (Baldwinsville, N.Y.) made 10 saves in the Fredonia net. She allowed 10 of the Geneseo goals.
