NEW PALTZ, N.Y. -- The Fredonia women's volleyball team defeated both Mount Saint Mary College and Sage College in in three straight sets on Saturday to close out the Hawks Invitational at New Paltz. They finished the invitational 2-2.
Against Mount Saint Mary, Fredonia won by set scores 25-20, 25-12 and 25-18.
Kristen Stanek (Hamburg, N.Y. / Orchard Park) had 10 kills and
Megan Collins (Burlingham, N.Y. / Pine Bush) had nine kills and two blocks.
Hallie Christopher picked up 35 assists.
Against Sage College, Stanek and Collins added 13 and 12 kills respectively. As a team, the Devils combined for nine service aces.
Courtney Poirier (West Seneca, N.Y. / West Seneca West) led the defense with 19 digs. Freshman
Amanda Mosack (Webster, N.Y. / Webster Schroeder) added 12 digs and 45 assists. The Devils won by set scores 25-18, 25-17 and 25-20.
The Devils now stand at 5-4. Next weekend they are off the the Union/Sage Crosstown Tournament.
