FREDONIA, N.Y. -- The Fredonia women's volleyball team swept Houghton College, 3-0, on Tuesday night after honoring its three seniors in a pre-game ceremony.
The Devils won the first set 25-19. Houghton came out quickly in the second scoring the first five points.
Houghton would lead 18-14 midway through before the Devils regained momentum going on an 11-3 run to close out the set, 25-21.
Fredonia led most of the third set before the Highlanders tied things at 18. The Devils would then score seven of the next 10 points to take the victory, again by a 25-21 score.

), Jane Garrity (Victor, N.Y. / Victor) andÂ
Sara Madison (Rochester, N.Y. / Penfield)Â led the team with seven kills apiece.Â
Megan Collins (Burlingham, N.Y. / Pine Bush) added five kills.
Amanda Mosack (Webster, N.Y. / Webster Schroeder)Â had 21 assists.
Defensively, Garrity had six blocks and Collins four.Â
Rachel Aiello (Baldwinsville, N.Y. / C.W. Baker)Â had 20 digs.
In addition to Collins and Madison, Saverina Chicka (Shelter Island, N.Y. / Shelter Island) was also honored in the senior recognition ceremonies. It was the last regluar-season solo match for the trio. However, the Devils will play host to Pool Play on Oct. 21st and 22nd in Dods Hall.
Houghton falls to 9-10. Fredonia improves to 16-8.
The Devils travel to Penn State Behrend next Tuesday to take on the Lions in a 7 p.m. match.
