GENESEO, N.Y. -- Fredonia had a numerical advantage in shots -- as well as corner kicks -- yet were unable to capitalize Friday in its SUNYAC men's soccer opener.

The Blue Devils (1-6-1) outshots Geneseo 16-7 and had a 7-2 advantage in corner kicks, only to fall to the host Blue Knights, 3-0.

Ethan Gunty, Brad Campion, and Stanley Egbuchulam scored for Geneseo, who from the seventh minute on. Logan Calvey made six saves to earn the shutout.

Noah Voss (Fredonia, N.Y.), a freshman, was in the Fredonia net and finished with two saves. Joey Vucic (East Aurora, N.Y.), a junior, was credited with six shots, two of them on net.

The Blue Devils are back on the road Saturday when they visit Brockport at 1 p.m.
