Goal in each half spells gloom for Devils

BUFFALO, N.Y. -- Fredonia allowed a goal in each half Saturday in its 2-0 SUNYAC men's soccer loss at Buffalo State.

Bass Starr scored in the 14th minute and Luke Pavone in the 55th minute for the Bengals, who improved to 2-0-1 in the SUNYAC and 8-2-2 overall.

Fredonia fell to 1-7-2 overall and 0-2-1 in the conference.

Parker Healy (East Aurora, N.Y.) took four shots and Josh McIntosh (Williamson, N Y,) had three shots for the Blue Devils, who had 13 shots overall. The Bengals had 14 shots. Fredonia had a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.

Austin Santor (Chazy, N.Y.) made five saves in the Fredonia net. Buffalo State's William Banahene earned the shutout with six saves.

Buffalo State earned two more points to take a 4-2 lead in the Battle of Lake Erie.

Fredonia is back in action Tuesday night at home against Alfred.
