POTSDAM N.Y. ---  The Fredonia women's basketball team cruised to a 76-46 victory over Potsdam on Saturday to conclude a season sweep of the Bears. Sabrina Macaulay (Newark, N.Y. / Newark) had a double-double with 13 points and 16 rebounds. 

Alexis Cheatham (Lockport, N.Y. / Lockport) had 14 points and Jamie Curry (Ransomville, N.Y./Wilson) had 10 points and six assists in the winning effort.

The Devils shot 54 percent from the field compared to Potsdam's 24 percent. The Devils were also nine of 11 from the free-throw line and five of 13 from three-point range. They held a 57-29 advantage on the boards.

Fredonia began to take control of the game late in the first half. Up 23-19, Fredonia closed the half on a 10-2 run to take a 33-21 lead into intermission. They kept the momentum into the second half, opening with a 15-3 burst to make it a 24-point advantage, 48-24.

The Bears (1-16 overall, 0-10 SUNYAC) were led by Katie Lavoie who recorded a double-double with 13 points and 11 rebounds.

The Blue Devils improved their record to 7-10 overall and 4-7 in the SUNYAC. They are back in action tomorrow at Plattsburgh at 4pm.
