Larissa Dobson (Hamburg, N.Y. / Eden) took first in three events Saturday afternoon in the Steele Hall Natatorium as the Fredonia women's swimming and diving team fell to Grove City.
The Blue Devils fell to the Wolverines, 168-130.
Dobson, a senior, won the 100-yard breastroke (1:08.75), the 200-yard breaststroke (2:30.78), and was part of the 200-yard medley relay team that finished first. Other members of the relay team were
Stephanie Rosa (Phillipsburg, N.J. / Phillipsburg),
Rachel Morgano (West Islip, N.Y. / West Islip), and
Ellie Brion (Canandaigua, N.Y. / Canandaigua).
Other first-place finishers in the pool were Rosa in the 200-yard backstroke (2:14.49) and Morgano in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.00). The women also had a top finish in the 200-yard freestyle relay through the combined effors of Morgano, Brion,
Katie Donnelly (Albion, N.Y. / Charles D'Amico), and
Sam Rokos (Delanson, N.Y. / Duanesburg).
Meghan Bartlett (Johnstown, N.Y. / Johnstown) was the top performer among divers, winning both the 1-meter and 3-meter events. Her scores of 259.25 and 268.35 were both NCAA zone qualifiyiers.
The Blue Devils will travel to Rochester next Saturday to take on the Golden Flyers of Nazareth.
