BOXSCORE ROCHESTER, N.Y. -- In a span of seven minutes, Fredonia rallied erased a 2-0 halftime deficit and turned it into a 3-2 men's soccer win Tuesday at Nazareth College.
Ryan Ross (Grand Island, N.Y.) opened the scoring with a header off a
Dan Griffin (Williamsville, N.Y.) cross in the 48th minute. Ross and Griffin are freshmen. It was Ross's second goal of the season.
Patrick Schuber (Webster, N.Y.) then scored twice in a span of three minutes, his first two goals of the season.
Schuber made it 2-2 when he converted a pass from
Mike Biggane (Amherst, N.Y.) from the top of the box to left post. The goal came in 52nd minute.
Schuber completed the scoring in the 55th minute following a Fredonia free kick into the box.
Head coach
P.J. Gondek had a hard time remembering a comeback like the one Tuesday. "The sheer determination and will was contagious," he said. "When the second half started, we were not going to be denied. It was a great way to head into SUNYACs."
After trailing 2-0 at halftime, the Blue Devils outshot the Golden Flyers 12-6 in the second half -- and 16-13 overall. They also had a 3-0 second-half advantage in corner kicks.

Sammy Torrelli (Akron, N.Y.) made seven saves, including 4 of 4 on shot-on-goal chances in the second half.
Fredonia improved to 5-1-0 heading into the start of the SUNYAC portion of the schedule and a Sept. 26 home game vs. Geneseo, followed by Brockport at home Sept. 27.
