BOXSCORE 2 FT. MYERS, FLA. -- The Fredonia State baseball team took home a pair of wins Friday in a double header at Terry Park, defeating Skidmore, 7-2, and St. Lawrence, 7-4. The offense combined for a total of 30 hits in the two games including 17 in the night cap.
Game 1 saw
Sean Larson (Angola/St. Francis) throw eight strong innings picking up his first win of the spring. The senior right hander totaled seven strikeouts while scattering five hits and walking one.
Ben Senior (Angola/Lake Shore) threw a scoreless ninth.
Bobby Frantz (Webster) led the offense with three hits and two runs.
Ryan Carmody (Montgomery/Valley H.S.) added a pair of RBI.
The offensive outburst did not slow down in game two. Frantz,
Kyle Koslowski (Hopewell Junction/Arlington) and
Ricky Mendiola (Williamsville/Will. South) had three hits in the game.
Matt Casilio (Webster) and Carmody had two hits apiece.
Every player in the starting lineup tallied at least one safety and the Devils roped five doubles as a team.
Senior right hander
Steve Sturm (Amherst) picked up the win in his first outing of the spring throwing six innings. Fellow senior
Kyle Grey (Frewsburg) came into the game to start the seventh, grabbing the three-inning save without allowing a run. The duo combined for 10 strikeouts.
The Devils improve to 2-2. They take on Haverford on Saturday at 9 a.m.
